Posing tips for you Engagement and wedding photoshoot

Today We’re going to give you the best tips and tricks for posing! Most of my previous clients have no experience in front on the camera and have told me they were nervous to pose. If you feel this way, know you’re not alone, and that my tips will eliminate any anxieties you have towards posing!

Start Easy

I like to start all photo sessions easy and then progress into harder poses. Starting easy allows my clients to get into the posing mindset, and to eventually have confidence while posing.

Landscape photos

Landscape photos are a wonderful way to start because the viewers eye is more drawn to the background rather than the couple. All the couple has to do for this one is embrace one another, and let the background do the rest. If you are located in the San Francisco Bay Area you have beautiful locations to choose from like the Palace of Fine arts, The Legion of Honor, Baker Beach, Golden Gate Park and more!

Props

Next, I like to introduce some props into the picture. Like landscape photos, props also take the focus off the couple so there isn’t as much pressure on posing. For example, I threw rose petals over my clients, and the viewer is more focused on the action of this photo rather than the couple.

Another bonus to props is they can be exciting. I often times see clients get more inspired and confident once props are introduced.

My Favorite Pose

At this point, generally clients are ready to try some closeups. I have a favorite closeup that I do with all my clients, because I just know their skin tone, and the lighting are always going to be perfect. I have my clients both face me, with their cheeks touching one another, and they look right into the camera.

After this clients usually open up, and feel much more relaxed about the whole photoshoot. I have a handful of poses I recommend to my clients, and many time clients will tell me of poses they thought of on their own.

So to sum up everything, I would like to remind my clients to relax because, many photos taken are very wide or have flashy props in there that take the focus off of the posing couple. Second, is trust me, you will warm up to the photography process, and you’ll end up having fun in the end. And lastly, I know exactly how to capture light, which will make your skin glow, and add a romantic loving vibe to all your photos!

To all my future clients, You got this, and I look forward to working with you!
